Intergenerational Program (IGP) Definition
“The purposeful bringing together of different generations in ongoing, mutually beneficial planned activities designed to achieve specified program goals. Through intergenerational programs, young and old share their talents and resources, supporting each other in relationships that benefit both the individuals and the community” (American Association of Retired Persons, ASRP, as cited in Hanks & Ponzetti, 2004, p.8)
