Connecting Generations

Our Financial Needs
More Information

LINKages will continue to offer school based programs with the support of our donors, however there will be a shift that is aimed to build the community capacity and impact more youth and seniors. To be successful the organization needs the belief and backing of others who will support in tangible ways the passion of our new strategic direction.

As a registered charity, it is imperative that we manage our financial operations with the utmost attention to detail. Over the last year, we have reviewed our financial methods to assess how our funds were allocated to operations and programs. Consequently, we are developing a new budgetary process with full-cost accounting methods for our programs - this shift to full-cost accounting will ensure transparency and full accountability to all of our financial supporters.

LINKages’ Vision – Becoming a Leader of Intergenerational Programs

LINKages has a number of new community initiatives on the horizon for 2008-09 – and we have secured new sources of funding to support these new directions (e.g. rural initiatives, the LINK Project – “Linking Intergenerational Needs and Knowledge”, human resource/volunteer management, program evaluation and organizational capacity). These initiatives will support LINKages’ long-term vision.

We are working on the Business Plan for 2008-09 to determine our program plans and our staffing needs. We are also working to diversify our revenues to ensure that LINKages develops sustainable funding for the long-term.
