LINKages provides the careful recruitment, screening and matching of both youth and seniors with ongoing training and support, structured activities and high expectations for regular and ongoing contact.
It is important for today’s young adults to find ways to stay connected and develop relationships with the older generation, as these experiences build self-esteem and help develop leadership skills. Through our programs, youth may explore career paths and they acquire community service experience which builds life long values for civic engagement.
Intergenerational programs can create opportunities to learn about the issues of aging and to relate to seniors with respect, sensitivity and caring.
