Volunteer Opportunities

School Program Volunteers

LINKages has been successful by using a model that recruits youth volunteers from schools and partnering them with seniors in care centres. We plan to recruit adult volunteers to support our current school-based programs - we are looking for two adults for each school program!

Community Initiative Volunteers

New volunteers will also play a key role in LINKages' new community initiatives in order to bring together, train and support senior and youth service providers to implement their own intergenerational programs. We are looking for one or two volunteers who can support the partnering organizations as they learn to manage their own intergenerational programs, where LINKages provides transitional support/resources.

Share the Wealth

The staff at LINKages have a wealth of experience - in 2008, we gained additional insight from a new adult volunteer who brought her teaching background to the organization. We value the perspectives of new volunteers and we recognize that additional volunteers can strengthen our knowledge and capacity. We invite new volunteers to share their experience and knowledge with us!

LINKages Student Ambassador

Every year we are impressed by the students in our programs - and we recognize that they can serve as wonderful representatives of our organization. As LINKages strives to showcase the merits of Intergenerational Programs (IGPs), we encourage LINKages' student volunteers to volunteer as a LINKages Ambassador, as a public speaker, a mentor to students or to put seniors at ease about the experience.
