We have to admit that the LINKages office was abuzz when the latest issue of Spur Magazine from The Calgary Foundation arrived. LINKages Community Initiatives and the work of University of Calgary students post-flood was the first of three projects to be highlighted in the Connecting Generations feature.
Each of the projects are working to empower older adults to be active contributors to our city and were supported by The Calgary Foundation. In our case, students from the University of Calgary LINKages Chapter and others helped welcome seniors returning to the East Village after a lengthy evacuation due to the southern Alberta flood of 2013.
The LINKages University of Calgary Chapter continues to create an age-friendly environment by engaging older adults in the East Village. Check out our Community Events page for recent events.
We’re honoured to have been featured. Definitely see The Calgary Foundation’s website here for the full feature and the rest of the magazine.
