Intergenerational Outreach Visitors

Intergenerational Outreach Visitors

Get involved in the new Intergenerational Outreach Pilot Program!

If so, we are hiring IG Outreach Visitors and want to hear from YOU!

About the Role

As an IG Outreach Visitor, you will meet with an older adult who has expressed interest in having a friendly visitor in their home, typically once a week for 1-2 hours. During the visits, Outreach Visitors and older adults will participate in activities of their choosing together based on the interests and goals of the older adult. Activities may include:

  • Friendly conversation
  • Having tea or coffee
  • Reading, writing letters
  • Activities such as walks, crafts, puzzles, board and card games, etc.

Outreach Visitors may also offer support with light household tasks (max 30 minutes/visit), but the primary focus on the visits is on social support and companionship.

Please note: IG Outreach Visitors offer older adult clients support but do NOT provide hands-on care or support with any activities of daily living (i.e., medical care, personal hygiene, physical mobility).
