Our Intergenerational Secret Valentine’s project was a smashing success. We raised $1,222 in cash donations (goal was $1,200).

It was on June 05, 2010 when Sammy first wrote to LINKages Society. He was then a student at Sir Winston Churchill High School. 

We were recently overwhelmed with the show of love and affection for seniors from the great and wonderful students from Our Lady of the Assumption school in Bowness. 

Recently, when the students from the St. Stephens school were unable to visit their senior friends due a flu outbreak at the care centre, LINKages staff brought yarn and ideas to the student to ‘knit’ a scarve for their senior. 

My ears perked up when I heard, “Oldest hip hop group in the world, known as Hip-Op-Eration” What a superbly clever name! And then I watched the trailer and I was hooked. 

We recently celebrated a year of successful transformation for LINKages Society at our Annual General Meeting. The celebration was attended by friends, partners and supporters who helped us with the transition of management and staff

After arriving at Murdoch Manner all of us began to set up things to begin our class. Before we had even finished putting on our aprons and name tags one of the seniors named Gary walked through the door and stood off to the side.

Put together 6 energetic youths from the Bow Valley College and University of Calgary and 100 hungry seniors; a delicious turkey meal cooked up by chef Fred and his amazing team of helpers and you get a party that is full of merriment, chatter and laughter.
